WHY SONOTECH?

SonoTech Institute is a facility with a higher standard for technical training. We strive to prepare our students for real situations in the field of ultrasonography.

Cardiac Sonographers, also known as Echocardiogram Technicians, or ultrasound technicians are professionals that use special equipment to direct sound waves into the patient’s body that form an image or “picture of the anatomy”, or body part (heart). The images are then saved onto an ultrasound machine and later showed to a cardiologist. The cardiologist reads the ultrasound images and interprets them into a written report. The report is then given to the patient’s doctor and used to diagnose any abnormalities found in the patient’s anatomy.

As you can see the sonographer’s role is key in diagnosing abnormalities in patients. Cardiac Ultrasound is the primary exam used to determine the presence of heart abnormalities, as well as early signs of heart disease. An ultrasound is a very dynamic imaging study where you can visualize images in “real-time”, like when using a video camera.

Sonotech Institute, Inc is approved by Georgia Nonpublic Postsecondary Education Commission (NPEC).
